Mavericks and Photoshop printing

19-12-2017

Well, Apple’s brand spanking new Mac OS Mavericks (10.9) is with us; another OS upgrade and all that it might mean for professionals who need accurate print and file output. Well the good news is thus far, I have found that paper profiles created in 10.6 and 10.7 are outputting exactly as before (Hurray!). Just a couple of things though, after the upgrade has completed and you have restarted your system; Firstly go into ‘Monitors’ and re-select your custom monitor profile should you use one, and secondly in Photoshop Print Preview, ignore the sickly colour shift that occurs, it does not affect the finished print. Hopefully this will be fixed in the near future and allow soft proofing during the print process. I will post any other changes as I find them. If you’ve found a quirk do share!
