Chineasy

21-05-2015

On a recent trip to the Design Museum one of the highlights was ‘Chineasy’ by ShaoLan Hsueh. When ShaoLan Hsueh found herself bringing up her two children in England and wanted to teach them to read and write Chinese so she looked for patterns in the writing to make it easier. The result is Chineasy! By simply incorporating stylish graphics to Chinese characters it helps people associate the characters to what they signify. This knowledge can then be built on to give further insight into the Chinese language and culture. Quite rightly, Chineasy has already been named ‘life-enhancer of the year’ in the Wallpaper* design awards and is shortlisted for a 2014 Design Museum award. A great example of how design can change the world!
